Toolondo Trout Report

24 May 2015 9:14 AM - Eric Box gives us the lowdown on his trip to Toolondo earlier this month.
Situated near the township of Horsham, lake Toolondo has once again hit local anglers' radar as catches of solid trout stir things up.

Good customer Eric box fished Toolondo earlier this month and caught some fantastic fish
All fish were caught on large black Mudeyes under a float. This is a great way to trip up the local Trout population. If you've not fished using this technique just pop into the shop and we'll be happy to give you a quick rundown on how to get the most out of it.

With 30mls of rain and winds of 30 kms an hour, and gusts of 60. Eric managed 5 lovely brown trout ranging from 1670g up to 2050g. The lake had risen a little, with still, clear water. As you can see all the trout were in excellent condition and as our good mate Jim Allen says "as fat as butter".

If you're heading to Toolondo get in touch with Trevor Holmes of Victorian Inland Charters, he can arrange to take you for a fish or hire you a boat. He's also a great source of local information if you're heading that way. He can be reached on 0438 132 130
